Thank you to everyone who tuned into my live video! Featuring Guest Writer Glenn Kessler LIVE on the Makes Sense Substack.
What Sense was made about fact-checking?
It was fascinating to hear Glenn’s story. Unlike most fact-checkers, he is not seeking to create controversy and drama. He likes to point out the bullshit on all sides. He made it clear that at this time, the bullshit is one-sided, so his work seems to be focused there. We contemplated whether or not people actually care about the truth or look to fact checkers to either validate themselves or determine the fact checker is the enemy when he/she point out their beliefs are bullshit.
My observation is that people are too busy to care what is right and wrong. They will gravitate towards what is familiar and supportive of the narrative they have bought into.
I will definitely be posting this episode on the Makes Sense with Dr. JC Podcast, as it was that good. Thanks, Glenn.
